Streamly is local-first: designed so that your data stays with you.
- Everything runs on your PC. The service that talks to the platforms and serves your overlays runs locally (port 4747). There’s no STKN server between you and the platforms.
- Your accounts and tokens don’t pass through any third-party server. OAuth credentials (Client ID/Secret) and access tokens are encrypted and stored locally, and are only sent to the relevant platforms (Twitch, Google, Kick).
- No telemetry. Streamly doesn’t collect your activity.
- Your overlay code doesn’t leave your machine. OBS reads the overlays from the local URL; nothing is hosted with a third party.
What about the Pro licence?
Section titled “What about the Pro licence?”The Pro key is verified online once, then works offline. Your streaming features never depend on our server. See Free vs Pro.
Backups
Section titled “Backups”When exporting config, secrets are only included if you explicitly tick the option (off by default). See Settings.
