Windows: “Windows protected your PC” (SmartScreen)

This is due to the unsigned build (for now). Click “More info” → “Run anyway”. The warning will go away once signing is in place.

Windows: the old icon stays after an update

This is Windows’ icon cache. Clear it (restart Explorer or the IconCache) and the icon will refresh.

The app isn’t damaged — it’s not yet notarized. Right-click → Open, or allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security. See Installation.

Kick: 401 error / moderation action refused

A permission is missing on your Kick app. Enable the required permissions (see Connect Kick) then reconnect in Streamly to regenerate the token.

YouTube: action not possible (title, moderation, chat)

YouTube requires an active or scheduled live. Check that a broadcast is running or planned, then try again. See Limitations.

An action fails after changing permissions

Apply the golden rule: disconnect then reconnect the platform to regenerate the token with the new permissions.

Another program (or an already-running instance of Streamly) is occupying port 4747. Close the app using it, or the duplicate instance, then restart Streamly.

If the installer fails, it’s often because Streamly is still running. Fully close the app before launching the update.

An overlay doesn’t show / doesn’t update in OBS

  • Check that Streamly is open (it serves the overlays).
  • In OBS, right-click the source → Refresh cache of current page.
  • Check that the Browser Source URL is the one copied from the app.
